Basic Ocho rules

The goal of each player is to get rid of all the cards in their hand before their opponent. The first player to run out of cards wins the round. Similar to the gameplay in Four Colors, it offers an exciting experience with a relaxing and thought-provoking style.

Card playing rules

Matching the color of the card currently on the table.
Matching the number or symbol of the card on the table.

Special cards

Ocho features several special cards that can change the course of the game, for example:

Skip: The next player loses their turn.
Reverse: Changes the direction of play in the round.
Draw: The opponent must draw another card from the deck.
Wild: The player can choose a new color for their next turn.

Rules for one card left

When you only have one card left in your hand, you must signal Ocho.
Forgetting to announce this and being caught will result in a penalty of drawing another card.

Ending the game

The game ends when a player runs out of cards in their hand.
That player wins and can receive points or start a new game.

Tips for winning in Ocho

Keep special cards

Special cards such as color change, turn ban, or extra draw cards can completely change the course of the game. Instead of using them immediately when you have the chance, you should save them for a decisive moment, such as when your opponent has few cards left.
